We have a closed facebook page, which I feel is important, as this gives people the chance, if they want, to open up and discuss some of the challenging times they face as someone who loves someone with epilepsy x
My name is Susan Bannard and I am a mum of a 10yr old girl and a 13yr old boy. Our son Alfie, has had multi-focal epilepsy from birth and often suffers from prolonged, tonic clonic seizures which often end up hospitalising him, as well as being on the autistic spectrum he also has significant learning difficulties. Being a parent/carer of a child or young person with epilepsy can often feel quite isolating and I realised that there actually wasn't a local support group here in Northampton, so I decided to set one up. I hope it helps each and everyone of our members to not feel quite so alone fighting this horrible illness with their children. Thankyou xx
We are a local support group for parents/carers/families of children with Epilepsy.
Each and everyone of our members are all -
'someone who loves someone with epilepsy'

In the UK, around one in every 240 children under the age of 16 will be diagnosed with epilepsy. Some of them will be babies, and some will be teenagers, with many others in between. And some children will have epilepsy as well as other conditions, including an epilepsy syndrome, learning disabilities, or an autistic spectrum disorder.
